Why Does This Job Exist: Job Summary/Scope of Impact
The importance of these functions is to ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting results (financial reporting to TICO, financial management reporting, financial planning and control, commodity taxes and funders reporting compliance). These reporting functions are important for accurate TICO consolidation and tax reporting compliance.
What You’ll Do: Major Accountabilities
Working Relationships, Management And Decision-Making Expectations/Authority
Working with our Controller,
- You will co-manage all aspects of the general ledger including interface with sub-systems of account payable, cash management/treasury, Info-Lease and Aspire (retail lease administration systems), Wi (wholesale and inventory management system).
- Build reporting trust relationship with TICO finance and accounting management for reliable (accurate and timely) reporting including responding to accounting queries.
- Applying knowledge of accounting and reporting processes, engage with other senior management team in implementing accounting interface or new products, systems, and processes.
- Support the finance group in financial, planning and control.
Who You Are: Competencies, Experience, Training and Education
- Leadership – Leadership is required to engage with other senior management in developing and evaluating ideas, implementing process changes and interface with new products and systems.
- Individual Contributor Competencies – Thorough knowledge of accounting (including some knowledge of IFRS & US GAAP) principles and concepts in order manage all accounting and reporting functions of the organization.
- Experience – 5 or more years in a senior accounting role/controllership is required. Leasing and financial services account experience is definitely an asset.
- Training and Education – Completed post-secondary education (or equivalent work experience) is required. Additional professional qualification in accounting (e.g., CPA, former CGA or CMA, CA) is required. However, candidate working towards a CPA near completion would be considered with relevant industry experience.
- Communications – You are an effective communicator and are comfortable in expressing yourself and ideas in different environments and with difference audiences.

After achieving the responsibilities for the current role, the successful candidates who displays leadership abilities will be trained in the other aspect of the business including sales/sales relationships, HR, treasury, collections/asset recovery, customer care, credit, and funding/documentation.
